ART/PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP by Pedro Pacheco

Pedro Pacheco presently is a teacher at National Art League
in Douglaston, on March 6th he will start a workshop on Tuesdays 1pm to 4pm (6 weeks) until April10th, about photographing artwork and digital
imaging process.  He will be using “Adobe
Photoshop” or “Gimp”.  Students need to
have a digital camera and laptop computer. 
If necessary 2 students can use the same tools. 

His regular art classes are still being held on Monday 1 to
4pm

Background:

His career in art has been over 40 years and he has recently been included in the online listing of artwork in the United Kingdom.  Two of his paintings are in the Glasgow
Museum in Scotland.

One of his paintings is located in Washington DC in the
Patriots Memorial Hall.

ART/PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

THE WORKSHOP CONSISTS OF:         How to photograph paintings     Learn  how to manage your art work with programs such as Gimp 2.6 or Photoshop CS5

For: Windows and Mac. (Both of these programs can be downloaded free from the internet)

Achieve better result in displaying your art
work, expand the possibilities of promoting your art.

Create CD’s, archives and portfolios. 

All students need a digital camera and a laptop computer

If you do not have this material to carry to class, you may work in teams of two.

 Course Length: From March 6th to April 10th   

Six sessions of two and half hours - one session per week.

 DAY:     Tuesdays       Hours: 1:00 to 3:30 PM

 Registration Fee:  $ 250.00 per student upon

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
