Douglaston Arts Festival Seeking Local Artisans and Crafters

Event's chairwoman said she is searching for local residents to sell their homemade crafts and art works at the Sept. 23 festival.

The Douglaston Arts Festival's operators are seeking local artists and crafters to take part in the fourth annual event on Sept. 23.

Carol Panagi, chairwoman for the event, said this year's festival will include music, entertainment, games for children, food, arts and crafts and numerous tables at which local artists will sell paintings, crafts and other art works.

The festival will be held near from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Panagi said local artists interested in taking part in this year's festival should call her at 347-306-8087 or email pan220@verizon.net.

Currently, there is no cut-off date to participate, but she said artists should contact her as soon as possible.

included 75 northeast Queens artists and drew thousands of residents.

Panagi said she also wanted to spread the word on another upcoming event in Douglaston. On Sept. 9, the Vine Line Trio will play "Pops on the Dock" at Douglaston Manor's dock from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Adults will pay $7 for the concert, while children ages 12 and below will get in for $1. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic basket.
