Big Apple Circus is Here
Comedy, wondrous feats, and nail-bitingly daring acrobatics come to Queens.
The tent is up for a few more days.
The performers of the Big Apple Circus are in Fresh Meadows to perform until June 5.
The 2010-2011 season production is called "Dance On." It features performers from Ethiopia, Mongolia, Kenya, Russia, Bulgaria and the U.S.

It also features one very recalcitrant goat who, on a May 22 performance, turned down a trick to jump on the back of a running horse. Since the audience had already been rolling with laughter from shtick by clowns Rob Torres and Mark Gindick, the goat was well-received.
Feats of acrobatics by the "Kenyan Boys" were enough to make you wonder about the limits in strength of the human body. The same was true of the female X Bud Roses Troupe, who make shapes off each others' bodies and even used their own teeth to hold on to a medal positioning bar as a finale.
