Bayside Theater Group to Perform 'Macbeth Did It' for Two Weekends This Month

Troupe has relocated to the Colonial Church of Bayside.

A theater troupe that has been performing in Whitestone for the past 15 years is moving its operations to a Bayside church and debuting its first show in the community on Oct. 19.

Theatre Time Productions will present John Patrick’s “Macbeth Did It” for the last two weekends of October at the Colonial Church of Bayside, located at 54-02 217th St.

Judy Vincent, who co-produced the play, said the play has a large cast of 18 actors and is “very funny.”

“It starts with an audition for ‘Macbeth’ and shows the process up through opening night,” she said.

Vincent’s husband, Kevin, will also co-produce and direct the show.

The theater troupe had been performing in Whitestone since 1997 and then spent two years searching for a new location. Vincent said the group would put on shows at the Bayside church from now on.

“We’d been on hiatus while we looked for a new space,” Judy Vincent said. “We approached Colonial because we knew there wasn’t another group performing there.”

She said she met her husband during an audition for a community theater production and the two have remained in that world ever since.

“We met at the audition and the rest is history,” she said. “We decided to form our own theater group a year later. We wanted to do things our way.”

She said Theatre Time would likely perform one show in the spring, fall and holiday season each year.

“Macbeth Did It” will perform on Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. as well as Oct. 21 and 28 at 3 p.m.

Tickets cost $16 for adults and $14 for seniors, children and students. Special rates are available for groups with more than 10 people.

Reservations can be made by calling 347-358-8102 and tickets will be available at the door.
