Bayside Historical Society to Host Paranormal Event, Murder Mystery

Historical society to hold two macabre events at Fort Totten in June.

The Bayside Historical Society will host two upcoming events involving the paranormal and murder.

On June 9, the Seekers Club of the Paranormal will guide attendees through a live investigation of Fort Totten’s castle.

During the investigation, which begins at 11 a.m., the Seekers will explain the tools and techniques used to discover paranormal activity.

There is limited space for the event, so those interested in attending should reserve a spot by calling 718-352-1548. Admission is $8 for historical society members and $10 for non-members.

The society will host Dead in Deadwood: A Murder Mystery on June 15 at 7 p.m.   The story involves Jimmy Haywood, who rules a downtrodden, forgotten town that once thrived when there was gold in Fort Totten.

Now, Deadwood is a stagecoach stopover and the castle is not only a haven for outlaws, but it also has a dance hall and saloon.

Attendees are recommended to wear cowboy clothing, boots and a hat to this whodunit event. Admission is $50 for members and $60 for non-members.

Those interested in attending should RSVP by June 7 by calling 718-352-1558.

The Bayside Historical Society is located at 208 Totten Ave. in Fort Totten.
