Ahn Trio to Perform at LeFrak Concert Hall on Nov. 6

Trio of sisters will play inaugural concert as part of Kupferberg Center for the Arts' 50th season of classical music.

A trio of sisters from Korea who have performed with Bryan Adams, Pet Metheny and Maurice Jarre will play Queens College’s LeFrak Concert Hall this weekend.

Maria, Lucia and Angella, who are known as The Ahn Trio, will perform at 2 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the concert hall, located on Queens College’s campus.

The performance is the inaugural concert for Kupferberg Center for the Arts’ 50th season of classical music at LeFrak.

The Ahn sisters were born in Seoul before attending New York’s Juilliard School. For the past 10 years, they have toured the U.S. and performed with Adams, Metheny and Jarre as well as Kenji Bunch, Nikolai Kapustin, David Parsons Dance Company and Michael Nyman.

Recently, they played sold-out shows in the Czech Republic with rock group Tata Bojs.

They have also recorded six albums, appeared on MTV and been featured in the fashion pages of Vogue and GQ.

Other performers in the Kupferberg Center’s classical concert series include cello player Matt Haimovitz on March 4, the Harlem Quartet on March 25 and Zeynep Ucbasaran on April 15.

Tickets for each performance are $36. But passes for the entire series can be purchased for $128.
