Whiz Kid: Isabel Yagerman

Isabel likes fine arts, crafts, reading and swimming, among other things.

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout or did your local soccer team take the championship? They may be our next Patch Whiz Kids honoree.

Each week, Bayside Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens, and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid.  Submit your nomination in our comment box below or e-mail the information to Lori.gross@patch,com. Be sure to include all of the information you see below, and a photo. This week's honoree is Isabel Yagerman.

  • Name:  Isabel Yagerman
  • Age: 10
  • School: PS 209
  • Accomplishment: Isabel was the winner of the P.S. 209 Spelling Bee and went on to represent the school in the Queens Spelling Bee this past February.  In July she won 1st Place in the boat-caught bluefish contest run by the Bayside Angler's Group--12 lbs.!
  • Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Isabel has a huge heart and a generous spirit in everything she does. Her first love is fine arts and all kinds of crafts. She is also a model student and adores working with the kindergartener that's she buddied with. She's a great tennis player, an avid reader, swimmer, loving big sister, and really enjoys catching bigger fish than her Dad!
