Whiz Kid: Aviva Kaufman

Pint-size superhero

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout or did your local soccer team take the championship? They may be our next Patch Whiz Kids honoree.

Submit your nomination in our comment box below or e-mail the information to Lori.gross@patch.com. Be sure to include all of the information you see below, and a photo. Our honoree this week is Aviva Kaufman.

  • Name: Aviva Kaufman
  • Age: 5
  • School: P.S. 130
  • Accomplishment: Entering kindergarten in the fall.

Kids’ Key to Awesomeness: Aviva Kaufman is so excited to be starting kindergarten at P.S. 130 this September. She is the type of kid that approaches everything with endless zeal. The youngest of four children, she has two older brothers and one older sister. But it is not her siblings that she looks to mimic, but super heroes. This five-year-old refuses to wear anything that does not feature Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and well, you get the idea. When asked "why?", this super girl replied: “because!” Aviva takes karate and ice skating lessons, and enjoys soccer. She recently learned how to swim. Will the need to wear an Aquaman t-shirt be next?
