Austin Shafran, who narrowly lost to Paul Vallone in the Democratic primary for Halloran’s seat, took a job as legislative director for the Working Families Party. And two Romanian nationals were arrested after they allegedly lifted financial information from Long Island Rail Road ticket machines, including the one in Bayside.

Tuesday

Yut Chia, a former Bayside resident who began playing violin the subways last year, was given a full scholarship to Queens College. Check out Patch’s list of upcoming Menorah lightings and Chanukah events.
