Week in Review

It was a busy week for news in northeast Queens.

Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, as well as state Sen. Malcolm Smith, D-Jamaica, and Queens County Republican Vice Chairman Vince Tabone were arrested in an alleged scheme to rig the mayoral election.

State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, held an unofficial groundbreaking for the comfort station at Little Neck Bay.

Papazzio bartender Mimi Burnham said she is taking part in the Wine to Water project during which she will donate all the tips she earns on April 10 to a group that provides fresh water to nations such as India, Cambodia and Uganda.
