It was a busy week for news in northeast Queens.
A spokesman for Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, said he believed the City Council would honor funding for the winning proposals during the recent participatory budgeting vote in the councilman’s district.
Bayside parents and elected officials said they were concerned about a proposal to cut M.S. 158’s Beacon program. And Community Board 11 discussed airplane noise and the Douglaston greenmarket during its monthly meeting.

Tuesday
CB 11 discussed airplane noise over Bayside during its April meeting. The Douglaston greenmarket will not return this year, but northeast Queens leaders are now seeking a site in Bayside for a greenmarket.
M.S. 158’s Beacon program is once again on the proposed chopping block. And Councilman Halloran announced the winners of the participatory budgeting vote in his district.
Wednesday
The Queens County Farm Museum will host a children’s carnival and antique auto show this month.
Thursday
A spokesman for Halloran said he did not believe the councilman’s arrest would affect funding for participatory budgeting proposals in the district.
Friday
This week’s Queens Eats recipe is baked chicken with Vidalia onion sauce. Councilman Mark Weprin, D-Oakland Gardens, announces the winning participatory budgeting proposals for his district.
Weekend
The Bayside Historical Society will host a jazz and Sangria event in early May.
