Update: The exhibition "Marching to the Freedom Dream: American Civil Rights 1958 - 1965," formerly showing at Queensborough Community College, has been closed, the College tells us. 

Did you enjoy that last night, Bayside? We knew you would —or at least would in concept.

Today's just a regular old Tuesday, we're afraid. No fancy astrological footwork on the slate for today.

1. Did you read that Matthew Coletta, the man who in 2006 went on a shooting rampage, aiming at 14 people, and killing a guy near Bell Blvd., . 

2. The State Senate returned to a Republican majority yesterday. The NYS Court of Appeals ruled against a hand recount in the race for New York's 7th Senate District between former Mineola Mayor Jack Martins, R, I,C. and  Sen. Craig Johnson, D - Port Washington. Mineola Patch .

3. This might be slightly less momentous than the power dynamics of the state legislature, but we thought we should tell you that the Bayside Library is today hosting . 

4. The U.S. Census Bureau today at 11 a.m. will release the first set of 2010 Census data. The report will include the resident population for the country, as well as congressional apportionments for each state by newly tabulated population.
