Tolls and LIRR Fare Raised or Local NYE Parties

Good day, Bayside. We've got a lot happening this Thursday, so pay attention.

By the way, on New Year's Eve— what's better than staying local? That way you can enjoy some bubbly, and have a short stumble home, rather than a dangerous drive, or long train haul.

1. Again, no alternate side parking, no meter feeding on account of snow removal.

2. The Office of the Mayor says all subways have returned to service, following with blizzard, with residual delays.

3. NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly was a passenger in a car in a three-care pile-up last night on the Gowanus Expwy. Careful driving out there folks! It's slick, and come tomorrow night, I wouldn't trust all the other drivers on the road to be sober, safe ones.

4. Borough President Helen Marshall says there are Queens streets still unplowed, even after the 7 a.m. deadline the city set itself to get the job done. The city says all streets have been plowed over at least once.

Meanwhile, Mayor Bloomberg says he'll investigate charges made by Bayside Councilman Dan Halloran that the slow snow clean up was the result of an organized work slowdown by Department of Sanitation workers over layoffs and cutbacks.
