The Royal Couple: Do the Stars Say They Will Last?

Everyone loves a wedding—especially . This week's installment of our Astro Advice by Yael column will not address one reader submitted letter, but a common topic of conversation this week: Does the royal couple have what it takes romantically to survive the trappings of their position?

Astrologically speaking, I give this couple two thumbs up.  Cancer-Capricorn combinations make beautiful unions.  

In this situation, there is a bit of role reversal, since Wills is a Cancer (the mother of the zodiac) and Kate is a Capricorn (the father of the zodiac).  That being said, we certainly know who wears the pants in the relationship. 

Since family is of the utmost importance for both of them, we can expect that these two will have a full house.  

Capricorn women are loyal, trustworthy, cautious, reserved, loving, ambitious, hard-working, self-motivated and family oriented.  

Cancer men are also family oriented, as well as emotionally reserved, private, sensitive, moody, domestically inclined and intuitive.

Capricorn (an earth sign) and Cancer (a water sign) are astrological opposites, which is extremely beneficial to compatibility.  They each have what the other lacks.  Most likely, they finish each others' sentences. 

Although Kate’s exact time of birth is unknown, there are a few consistent elements in their charts even if her exact hour changes.  Wills and Kate’s composite chart indicates the following: Sun Conjunct Mercury, Sun Conjunct Venus, Sun Opposition Mars, and Mercury Conjunct Venus.  

Having a Sun Conjunct Mercury indicates that these two have a great deal of mental activity in their relationship, which makes for good verbal communication.  This aspect reveals that they think alike and intellectualize their emotions.  That being said, they are able to talk openly about what they experience in a detached manner.

A Sun Conjunct Venus is one of the strongest indications of friendship and love, which can actually bring together two radically different people and allow them to harmonize well.  

It also indicates that they may bottle up their feelings, however, by the looks of the rest of their charts, this may be a positive.   

Having a Sun Opposition Mars reveals that these two may have some difficult times ahead; however, they have so many positive elements in their composite chart that they will manage.

A Mercury Conjunct Venus indicates that these two are very snuggly and affectionate together.  Behind closed doors, of course.  They are British. This Mercury-Venus combination allows these two to be more sensitive to the other person’s feelings.  This will be of great help, since their Sun-Mars combo is so volatile.
