Bayside's Own Memorial Day Weekend Event

Memorial Day Ceremony at Bayside Hills Mall

The Bayside Hills Civic Association will pay tribute to the men and women who gave their lives for this country during its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Saturday, May 28 at 9:30 a.m. The event will take place at Bell Boulevard and 53rd Avenue on the Bayside Hills Memorial Mall.

Joining the Bayside neighbors will be a guest list that includes local politicians and other surprises.

Slated to attend the tribute is Assemblyman David Weprin, Councilman Mark Weprin, Councilman Dan Halloran, Senator Tony Avella, BHCA  Vice President Armando Cortino, Northeast Queens Civic Leader Jerry Iannece, City Congressman Anthony Weiner, US Army Chaplain Rabbi Maury Stadtmauer, the Reverend Monsignor Martin T. Geraghty (pastor of the parish of St. Robert Bellarmine of Bayside), the Cub Scouts of America, audio expert Jess Feiner, local theatre star Rhea Arkin singing our National Anthem, and the BHCA Board of Directors, plus other  luminaries.

Also included will be a special presentation from Mayor Bloomberg's office presented by Claudia Filomena of the Community Affairs Unit. Among the events will be a welcoming address from BHCA President Michael Feiner, a poem reading by Sasha Pezenik and the playing of Taps by local Cub Scout Pack 142.
