The Most Unfaithful Signs

Does your sign determine your level of commitment and loyalty?

Dear Yael,

Is it me or are Libras and Sagittarians the two signs most prone to being unfaithful?  I swear every single one of these folks who supposedly fall under these signs can't be faithful.  I’m not speaking from personal dating experience, but I am speaking from observing family, friends, acquaintances and colleagues. I don't know a single one who is faithful, and I know many!

By the way, you were spot on with the advice for the Cancer woman looking for love. I was born three days before her and have had the exact same type of relationship experience.  I mean completely and totally!  What you said makes a lot of sense.  A lot of it I knew; I just needed to hear that I wasn't crazy.

Dear J.,

While I am tempted to write a black and white article, I have to stay clear of doing so for obvious reasons.  I have noticed a trend among the Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) and Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius) signs regarding loyalty and faithfulness.  Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) signs are known for being the most faithful in relationships.  Then again, they are also more traditional and emotionally needy.

Fire and Air signs have different needs than Earth and Water.  Fire is spiritual; Air is intellectual, Earth is physical, and Water is emotional.  However, since each person’s chart is made up of many components, no person is truly just a Libra or a Sagittarius.

The placement of the Moon, Venus, and the houses also indicates our attitude towards committed relationships, our love styles, what kind of partner we seek, and to whom we are attracted.  Although I am inclined to agreeing with your assessment of Libras and Sagittarians, I know many who are faithful to their mates and who do not look elsewhere for physical stimulation.

Sagittarians specifically are attracted to the intellectual and spiritual pursuits.  They get bored easily if neither is fulfilled.  Thus, they need to have a partner who, in their very nature, exists in these realms.  Sagittarians cannot be contained.  They cannot have a partner who places chains around their ankles; for them, freedom (intellectual and physical) is a must.  They are not homebodies, like the Earth and Water signs.  Their needs do not apply to the acquisition of material objects.  They seek out new experiences that enrich their minds and souls.

Libras are very similar to Sagittarians; however, they are more inclined to dancing through life with a partner by their side.  Sagittarians can fly solo for a long time, even if they would like to share in the joy.  Libras require someone more solid and focused, since Libras enjoy the flight.  They are daydreamers, but they extremely logical when they have to be.  Libras do best with someone who can fly (Gemini or Aquarius) with them, or who can anchor them (Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius).  They are not ruled by tradition; thus, they can explore many "taboos".  They are sexually creative and open-minded.

Fire and Air signs are without a doubt the most sexually experimental of the zodiac.  I have noticed that Air signs are the most prone to having open relationships and so forth.  When I mean Fire and Air, I should also stipulate that I do not strictly mean one’s Sun sign.  Once again, the placement of the Moon and Venus also come into play quite a bit.

You can also find an Earth or Water Sun with a Fire or Air Moon and vice a versa.  Thus, the opposite can hold true.  A traditional Earth or Water Sun with a Fire or Air Moon (or Venus) can contribute to this person’s sexual needs and explorative nature.  Thus looking at the Sun sign alone cannot give you an accurate view of how a person operates in relationships.  You need to thoroughly look at all the other elements in one’s chart to do so.
