Morning, Bayside. This weekend was a busy one. Here are a few things that may have passed you by:

1. The City Council will hold a hearing on the in property assessments that have affected many co-ops and condos in our area.

2. The Civil War came to life yesterday at Fort Totten. Reenactor Patrick Falci gave a to the Bayside Historical Society in costume.

3. The New York Conference of Italian American Legislators is accepting applications for to give to four students. They are awarded for two tracks: one for academic merit and one for athleticism. The deadline to apply is May 2. For more information, call Councilman Tony Avella’s district office at 718-357-3094.

4. Senator Chuck Schumer was in Bayside on Saturday to address the Bayside Little League. We've got video of his speech to our local tykes given on the baseball mound. .
