Support Group for Local Women with Breast Cancer

Women fighting the disease can join a network without leaving home.

Few people like travelling when they're feeling infirmed.

With this in mind, Adelphi University has created a new support group, so women with breast cancer don't have to leave Bayside or even their living rooms.

A weekly telephone support group will begin on Jan. 23 and will be held every consecutive Monday for eight weeks. Each session will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Along with other breast cancer survivors, those dialing in will have a social work facilitator on the conference call.

All those interested in registering can contact coordinator Sandu Kafenbaum at 516-877-4314.
