Samuel Field Y to Host Cover Letter, Thank-You Note Workshop

The Samuel Field Y is holding a workshop this coming week on how to improve your cover letters and thank-you notes.

The program will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 12 at the Y, located at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway.

During the class, attendees will learn how to spruce up their cover letter, which is meant to introduce and applicant and their resume, convey their abilities in terms of meeting the company’s needs and intriguing the reader regarding the applicant’s potential value to the organization.

The workshop will cover the various types of cover letter as well as the ways an applicant can make their skills and experience stand out.

Also, the class will include a discussion on the style, content and timing of the thank-you note following an interview.
