Rockin' Out on Douglaston Parkway

Giardino, The Attic Offer Live Music on Weekends

There appears to be a budding music scene in Douglaston.

Giardino by Russo’s on the Bay is hosting guitarist Kevin Ronan on Friday nights. Over the years, the Queens native has developed a strong following for his nimble acoustic chords and silky vocals.

Although the College Point crooner has given command performances in places as varied as Manhattan and Tuscany, he’ll be keeping it closer to home on Fridays at Giardino, located at 44-37 Douglaston Parkway.

The Attic Bar and Lounge, located down the block from the eatery at 44-21 Douglaston Parkway, will continue its Saturday night live music program with a solo performance by Marc Fox on April 16.

The “Rock Free” show will include an open microphone opportunity for musicians to get some playing time before a live audience at the cozy venue, which is located just north of Northern Boulevard and four blocks south of Douglaston’s Long Island Rail Road Station.

On April 23, the Rogues are scheduled and, on April 30, the Rockaholics will perform some addictive sets, according to manager Mia Kang.

The music starts at 9 p.m. There will be no cover or music charge.
