Reader Comment of the Week

This week's comments come from a story on the construction site of a new business that received a stop-work order.

Earlier this week, Patch posted the story "Stop-Work Order Issued for CVS on Bell Boulevard." Workers at the site had said that the site would be a chain pharmacy.

But CVS said that it was not planning on building a pharmacy at the site and it is currently unclear what type of business is being constructed at the locale, which formerly housed Lucky Bell Store.

Regardless, Bayside Douglaston Patch readers had some interesting comments on the stories.

Reader Karen Califano wrote, "It's either a bar, bank, restaurant or chain store that can afford the rents nowadays. Smaller businesses are being forced out because of the rents."

Reader Harriet Brown said, "Who needs another pharmacy? What we really need is a supermarket."

And reader Se agreed, saying, "Trader Joe's would be great but they usually like properties with parking lots."
