Queens Historian Eichenbaum to Lead Walking Tour of Bayside

Event will include stops at the Lawrence Family graveyard and the homes of silent film stars.

Queens Borough Historian Jack Eichenbaum will lead a personal walking tour through Bayside, where he lived for 15 years of his life, on March 30.

The event, which is sponsored by the Bayside Historical Society, runs from 10:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.

Eichenbaum, who lived in Bayside from 1943 to 1958, is an expert in real estate research and urban geography. In 2010, he was picked by Queens Borough President Helen Marshall to act as the borough’s official historian.

Highlights of the walk he will lead through Bayside include the Lawrence Family graveyard, the Cobblestone House and the homes of silent movie stars.

Proceeds from the event will help the Queens Historical Society. Tickets are $12 for members of both the Queens and Bayside historical societies and $15 for general admission.

The tour will begin at the Bayside Post Office, which is located at 212-35 42nd Ave.
