And the 31st annual Queens County Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 22.

The event, which is the only one of its kind in the borough, will include blue ribbon competitions in livestock, produce, home crafts and arts and crafts.

Attendees will be able to walk through the Amazing Maize Maze or visit the Con Edison ecology booth, where they can adopt a worm for a home compost bin.

Visitors will also be able to get planting tips, recycling ideas and take part in free crafts. During the course of the fair’s two days, pie eating and corn husking contests will be held.

There will be lumberjack shows, pig racing, hay rides and carnival rides.

An Irish band will play on Sept. 21, while a German group will perform on Sept. 22 in the farm’s Bavarian Garden.

Numerous food and craft vendors will be set up at the fair.

Admission will be $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 years and below. Those with farm membership will be able to get in for free.
