Photo Story: Lions Club's Charter Dinner
Local charity organization hosted a dinner to celebrate its founding
The new Bayside-Whitestone Lions Club got off to a roaring start when about 100 local activists, philanthropists, civic leaders and local elected officials packed Bourbon Street on Tuesday for a charter meeting and dinner.
Lions Clubs are dedicated to charitable works, and the group, which already has close to 75 new members, plans to tear into local causes as well as combating blindness, a cause close to the heart of the organization.
