What are some safety tips for parents whose children will be helping them prepare food or snacks during the holidays?

It is great to get children in the kitchen to help prepare for the holidays, but a few rules have to be established. First, make sure the children are old enough to understand that touching a hot oven or stove is very dangerous and can result in a severe burn. 

Also, they should be properly supervised around any kitchen tools. Some safe chores a child can assist in would be stirring, mixing, cracking eggs, and pouring.
