What are some ways for your family to save energy in your home during excessive heat waves? Also, around what temperature do you believe you should bring your children into the house from the heat?

If you are not at home, turn the air conditioner off or set it to 75 degrees or higher, so that it still keeps the house cool without it running on full blast. Also, using ceiling fans or other fans to help keep the house cool is a more energy efficient alternative.

When the temperature goes above 90 degrees, it is probably a good time to bring the kids in. Of course, it would be better to bring them in sooner if there is high humidity.
