No Alternate Side or Astro Advice

December 29, 2010

We hope you have impervious snow boots to slush around in, Bayside. Here are five things you need to know this Wednesday:

1. The mayor said yesterday that blood banks are critically low in supplies because of a lack of donation during the storm. There's no place in the immediate area to donate, but if you can make your way to Lake Success, or work in Manhattan or Brooklyn, you'd really be helping out by stopping in.

2. There's no alternate side parking or meter feeding to worry about today.

3. If you didn't find any mail in your box yesterday, you aren't the only one. Many in Bayside and Bay Terrace have reported that they have not received mail service since before Christmas, on Friday.

4. Today is the non-political soiree in honor of outgoing State Sen. Frank Padavan, R-Bellerose. to buy tickets at the door, says the event organizers, despite what the invitations say. Mayor Bloomberg will be there, we hear.

5. Bayside Patch wants to advise you—astrologically. We've got the lovely and talented Yael Morowati, a celestially attuned, somewhat clairvoyant advice columnist at your disposal. Send Bayside Patch a mention of whatever pickle you're in, and Yael can help you un-sour it.

We promise to keep your name and info anonymous under pain of torture. Let her know what your sign and birthday are!  This will be fun for all. Send to Lori.Gross@patch.com.
