Meteor Shower or No Alternate Side

January 3, 2011

Happy first Monday of the new year, Bayside!

It's a little early on to be getting a case of the Mondays, but if that's not the case for you, maybe the first of the five things you need to know today will bring out the dimples:

1. Alternate side of the street parking is again suspended today. You can sleep that extra 15 minutes before work, or not spend your lunch hour circling for parking.

3. Today is the first day since Christmas the city will be doing regular trash removal. That being the case, you probably still have your Christmas tree in the house or curbside. If you're ready to get rid of it, maybe save it just a few more days until Jan. 8 or Jan. 9, when the city will be hosting a mulchfest at parks all across the city.

4. This is pretty cool: folks are gathering tonight at the . The Urban Park Rangers want you to call before coming, in case adverse weather conditions call for cancellation.

5. Lastly, Community Board 11 will be conducting its at Middle School 158's auditorium at 7:30 p.m.  See here for the meeting's agenda.
