Greetings, Little Neck! Today, my friend and colleague, Paul Leonard is leaving Little Neck seeking new challenges in this grand metropolis we call home.

Though I am sad to see him go, a person like Paul brightens the world for the rest of us. His impact on Little Neck Patch will last a lifetime. The people of Brooklyn are very lucky to have him.

Today's Five Things:

1. Little Neck Whiz Kid, Brendan Gambeski has the makings of the next Little League International MVP. Read about him by clicking here.

2. The held it’s annual gala to celebrate the first boat launching of the season. Champagne and bowline knots were the order of the day.

3. Mono-cyclists? Mongolian contortionists? The Big Apple Circus is still in town at Cunningham Park, and Monday is a great day to go.  Children under 3 are free.

4. When my grandparents came to America in the 1940’s, they quickly learned to stretch a dollar. I’m sure they would have liked our column from Bayside Patch. This week, bargain priced deals on spring clothes and mixing bowls.

5. Quick Little Neck Facts: The median age of all Little Neck residents is 43.9. Every resident 25 or older has at least a G.E.D. The average household has a combined income of $61,053.
