Keep The 'Saint' In Saint Patty's Day?

There are different ways to observe the Irish-for-a-day holiday.

As you probably know, Saint Patrick was a historic figure. He may not have actually , but the Catholic Church believes he did the people of the Green Isle a spiritual service, by converting many from Paganism.

Catholics observe March 17 as the anniversary of his death.

Today, the holiday is celebrated in the U.S. more so than Ireland. Some go . And some hold the holiday as a time for , and reverence for a sainted man.
