Musical Tribute to Our Troops

Independence Celebration
Where: Astoria Park Lawn, located on Shore Boulevard between the Hell Gate Bridge and the Astoria Pool.
When: July 30, 7:30 p.m
Celebrate the Fourth of July a little earlier this year at Astoria Park, which will be hosting an early Independence Day celebration with a musical performance by the Astoria Symphony Orchestra. Immediately after the performance, experience the astonishing fireworks display courtesy of Fireworks by Grucci.
The event is completely free and open to all. But arrive early to find a prime spot spot with a great view of the fireworks. For more information, call 718-728-7820.
Fourth of July Birthday Party
Where: 43-56 107th St., Corona
When: July 4, Noon to 5 p.m.
Fourth of July not only marks the nation’s independence, but it is also jazz legend Louis Armstrong’s birthday. Every year, Corona's Louis Armstrong House Museum hosts a birthday party to honor the trumpeter and singer with a two for one admission special to the museum that includes a concert in the garden.

Sky View Celebrates! A Sunday Music Spectacular and Magical Workshop with CenterStage
Where: Sky View Center - 40-24 College Point Blvd., Flushing
When: July 3
Sky View Center is having its first ever Sunday Music Spectacular featuring CenterStage: The Queens Center for Performing Arts. The concert will feature a variety of jazz, classical, string quartets, piano and percussion performances by the talented students and all-star faculty of CenterStage. The band will also host a variety of interactive programs for all ages. The event will take place on Level D.
Independence Day Asian Cultural Celebration
Where: Queens Botanical Gardens - 43-50 Main St, Flushing
When: Sunday July 3, 3:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m
The Flushing Development Center proudly presents lively and colorful performances by two schools of Asian martial arts - Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do - as well as Chinese musical performances that are sure to delight audiences of all ages.
Adults admission is $4, but seniors will pay $3 and kids ages 3 and over will pay $2. Ticket price includes admission to the Queens Botanical Gardens.
