How You Can Help or Green Space

Hello, Bayside. The events in Japan these past few days weigh heavy on us. Nevertheless, here are Five Things you need to know for your Monday:

1. If you'd like to help the people of Japan with emergency relief, you can donate to Network for Good.

2. According to reports, Mayor Mike Bloomberg is expected today to announce a 10-year and $700 million plan to revamp the city's 520 miles of waterfront.

3. You can check back in with Bayside Patch to learn if the Bayside Marina or other local waterfront will be included in the plan.

4. The world today needs more poetry. A guest poet, Yuyutsu R.D. Sharma, is today to read some of his works. Sharma is a Nepali and Indian writer, who has published eight poetry collections including "Space Cake, Amsterdam and Other Poems from Europe and America."
