Great Escape: Top of the Rock

A day of fun scaling the only indoor rock climbing wall in Queens.

Start the year off on a high note, scaling the 30 foot rock climbing wall at the Rock Health Club and Fitness Center in Astoria.

Rock climbing is a multi-dimensional sport requiring strength, flexibility and endurance, not to mention a truly great escape from everyday life.

Indeed, there's no better way to unwind locally than by climbing the only indoor rock climbing wall in Queens.

Rock climbing classes are offered at the Rock on Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursdays 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and rock patrons are free to use the wall at their leisure whenever they want.

Plus, first timers to the gym get a complimentary three day 'all access' trial membership, which means that your first rock climbing experience can be both fun and free.

Then when you're done climbing, the Rock also has a large selection of free weights, cardio-equipment, fitness classes and yoga that you can use gratis with your free three-day trial membership. 

The Rock Health & Fitness Club is located at 22-15 31st in Astoria and open 24 hours a day, Monday thru Friday, Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Just be sure to bring an official goverment issued ID card to gain access to the Rock's 30,000 square foot fitness center and rock climbing wall.
