Great Escape: Squeaky Clean Fun
Head down to Alley Pond Park for a fun free family concert.
The golden age of rock 'n' roll returns, at least for one night, to northeast Queens this Friday.
Alley Pond Park will host an outdoor concert at 7 p.m., during which Long Island-based band Squeaky Clean will perform classics from the 1950s and 1960s.
The band was started in 1983 by Suzanne Smithline and Glenn Manion. The musical duo’s love for pop music, particularly that of the rock 'n' roll era, earned them gigs as regulars at clubs throughout the five boroughs.

Because of their “squeaky clean” image, the band was able to reach a wider audience, including children. They specialize in a series of performances aimed at music lovers of all ages in museums, libraries and parks.
On August 5, if you’re looking for a fun family outing or simply need an excuse to get out of the house, grab a blanket and chair and head down to 76th Avenue and Springfield Boulevard in the Oakland Gardens section of Alley Pond Park for a night of rock 'n' roll classics.
