Great Escape: Dancing Under the Stars

Stop by Little Bay Park and learn how to shake your groove thing.

Rather than sit down and watch "Dancing with the Stars," why not get up and head out to northeast Queens to dance under them?

If you're game for learning some new moves, now is the time to get out those dancing shoes and take free lessons in Little Bay Park.

The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is offering Dancing Under the Stars, an outdoor program that teaches the basics of several dance techniques from around the world.

To join, participants should show up at the hockey rink in Little Bay Park, located at the Cross Island Parkway between Utopia Parkway and Totten Avenue in Bayside, and be prepared to get footloose.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m through July 27.

What better way to escape from every day stress, than to spend the night dancing under the stars?
