Great Escape: Clearview Park Golf Course

Playing the greens in your own backyard

Bayside residents are lucky to have the ultimate great escape for golfers located in their own town. The Clearview Park Golf Course is a public 18-hole, par 70 course ideal for beginner to intermediate level players, with par ranges from 3 to 5 strokes. So if you’re just starting to play the game, head to the greens facing the Throgs Neck Bridge. The course is somewhat hilly and features both straight, open fairways as well as others lined with trees. Signature hole #17 is a 395-yard, par 4 hole with great views of the Long Island Sound and the bridge. Hole #2 is the longest at 473 yards.

There are forward tees for the ladies and cart rentals. A new 8,000 square foot putting green allows you to practice before or after your game. There is also a pro shop, where you can ask about lessons and clinics. A newly renovated clubhouse includes a new bar and grill. There are also lockers and a snack cart roaming the course.

The best news is the reasonable rates for play. Weekend rates are $46 before noon and $38 after noon. During the week, a round will cost you only $38 before noon and $31 after 12. These rates require proof of New York City residency.
