Grand 'Ole Flag or Delicious Matzah Recipe

April 20, 2011

Greetings, Bayside! Today’s Five Things is a clever mixture of poignant stories from around the ‘nabe. Last night while many of you were celebrating Passover, your author had a stroll down memory lane. While growing up, I had Jewish neighbors. Back then, neighbors were considered family. Needless to say, even though I am Catholic,  I remember my first Passover when I was just 6. I am probably the only Italian-American kid that went to a Passover Seder before my Confirmation. 2.   Stroll down Bell Boulevard these days and you will see the streets lined with vibrant patriotic flags and banners. The colorful display is the work of the Bayside BID.

3.   Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Clearly a case of bipartisan cooperation. My sentiment is with the residents.
