Where/When: Feb. 19, 1 p.m. at 212th St & Bell Blvd, Bayside, NY 11360 (Go to the Fort Totten Visitor's Center inside Fort Totten Park)

Why Go: Participants of this free event will get to learn all about the good and wonderful tasting foods nature has to offer. Along with gaining this ever important information, guest will also experience, for themselves, how delectible various natural foods can be.

Pricing: Free.

 

Where/When: 22806 Northern Blvd, Little Neck, NY 11362 (Alley Pond Environmental Center), on Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: A part of APEC's Weekend Drop-off Program, the group is for children between the ages of 8 and 12. The 8 participants will learn about and put into practice, using real animals, various duties of an Animal Trainer. Certificates of completion and snacks are included.

Pricing: Members, $12; Nonmembers, $16

 Where/When: 111th St & 49th Ave, Corona, NY 11368 (Queens Museum of Art inside Flushing Meadows Corona Park), on Feb. 20, between the hours of 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Queens Museum of Art invites artists of all ages to roll up their sleeves and let the creativity flow. This free workshop will have families making artwork with the use of such items as watercolors and pastels. Registration is not required, as the title suggests.

Where/When: , 21420 Northern Blvd, Bayside, NY 11361, weekly on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Kids seeking assistance with their homework can stop in for help from volunteers in a number of subjects, from Math and English to Science and Social Studies.
