Where/When: Windsor Park Public Library. On Friday, at 2 p.m.

Why Go: This is a great way to squeeze in some board game fun, while the kids work on their spelling in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Pricing: Free

 


Where/When: Alley Pond Park. On Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at 10 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: This free family-fun activity will get your mind and body into action with several challenging events.

Pricing: Free, first come, first served. Registration begins 30 minutes prior to start time.

 

Blood Donation

Where/When: Blood Donor Center, at 56-45 Main Street. On Thursday or Friday, by 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Because this is a great way to teach your kids about getting involved in community service. With the recent, and still on-going, power outages, there is a demand for blood donations. Your teens 16 and older can donate with your consent.

Pricing: Free. In fact, you get the satisfaction of knowing you did something for your community.

 

Movie Night

Where/When: . On Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Why Go: The kids will love watching Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (2011). Trust me, I tell you this through first hand experience.

Pricing:

 


Where/When:  41 Avenue and 235 Street. On Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go:  The kids will learn about organic and healthy eating, while picking their very own fruits and veggies to take home.

Pricing: Free to attend. Purchase prices vary.
