FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: . On Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: If you have a pre-school aged child with a disability, this is a great event for your family, as this pool party is specifically for families with children with disabilities. You'll get a chance to tour the facilities and learn all about the program as well.

Pricing: $5 per family

 


Where/When: Flushing Meadows Corona Park. On Saturday and Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Why Go: There'll be boat races, performances and food, all in honor of the Year of the Tiger. This will not only be fun, but culturally educational.

Pricing: Free

 


Where/When: , on Friday, at 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: This event features board games of all kinds, for the whole family. It's a great way to Connect 4 or more without giving all of your money to a Monopoly.

Pricing: Free

 


Where/When: Alley Pond Environmental Center, 228-06 Northern Boulevard. On Saturday, from 10:30 a.m to noon. 

Why Go: Your pint size chefs (ages 7 to 11) will enjoy being the great chefs that they are, while you get a chance to run some errands, grab a coffee, or go to the gym, your pick.

Pricing: Members, $18; Nonmembers, $23

 


Where/When: Meet at on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Why Go:  For the first time the BTCA will be completing a survey of all of the trees in Bay Terrace. The kids will learn all about taking part in the care of their community, as the findings will be used to request replacements by the Parks Department.
