FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: George Seuffert Bandshell in Forest Park, at Woodhaven Boulevard and Forest Park Drive. On Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Why Go: While this may be a short drive away, the kids will surely get a kick out of watching you give it your all in a karaoke musical performance in front of, not only them, but all those attending. Afterall, who can resist an open stage?

Pricing: Free, just leave the inhibitions and bring some courage!

 


Where/When: Fresh Meadows Public Library, 193-20 Horace Harding Expressway. On Saturday, at 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: Because you'll listen to the sounds of famous musicians and vocalists, of France and Brazil, as opposed to all that your kids make you listen to on the radio in your car.

Pricing: Free

 


Where/When: Queens Museum of Art, 111th Street and 49th Avenue. On Sunday, between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is a great opportunity for families to create artwork that shows, and shares, all that they are doing this summer.

Pricing: Free

 


Where/When: , on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Why Go: Because kids will find knick knacks that they can take home, while you get to indulge in that oh so guilty pleasure of going to a flea market. And it's all charitable to boot!

Pricing: Free to attend.

 

Farmers Market Friday

Where/When: In front of the Queens Botanical Garden, on Dhalia Avenue at Main Street. On Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Why Go: This is a great way to foster good eating habits with introducing the fun of shopping for farm fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also stop in the Botanical Garden to add to your natural experience.

Pricing: Free to attend, while food prices vary.
