Where/When: Windsor Park Public Library, on Friday, at 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Kids, ages 5 to 18, will not only learn about the game, but put their skills to use as they progress since this event happens twice a week. While you're there you can get them started on that summer reading list too.

Pricing: Free. Registration is required.

 


Where/When: , 228-06 Northern Boulevard. On Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: The young chefs of this group will make Indpendence Day themed foods, like mini hot dogs, sweet potato french fries and milk shakes. The kids will have fun while you get to run some errands, or even make it to the gym.

Pricing: Members, $18; Nonmembers, $23. Registration is required.

 


Where/When: Flushing Public Library, 41-17 Main Street. On Saturday, at 2:00 p.m.

Why Go: The audience will enjoy listening to Chinese folk songs by a number of vocalists as presented by the Chinese Musical Arts, Inc.

Pricing: Free

 


Where/When: Meet at the Queens Museum of Art, at 111th Street and 49th Avenue. On Sunday, at 8:00 a.m. 

Why Go: Participants, of all ages, will bike ride throughout various neighborhoods and parks of east and northeast Queens.

Pricing: Transportation Alternatives members, $5. Nonmembers, $10. Minors, $5.

 


Where/When:  , on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Why Go: Because this is a great alternative to the 20 mile Tour, especially if you have some very young riders with you.
