FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: Bayside Historical Society, inside Fort Totten Park.

Why Go: The kids will enjoy cleaning up and getting dirty while cleaning the park and planting flowers in the gardens surrounding the castle.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Bayside Historical Society, inside Fort Totten Park.

Why Go: You can go straight from It's My Park, since you'll already be at the Historical Society. This exhibit features pictures of the different stages of construction, as well as restoration.

Pricing: $3 suggested donation.

Where/When: Al Oerter Recreation Center, 131-40 Fowler Avenue. On Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Arrive 30 minutes early to register.

Why Go: You'll get the kids up and moving while they learn from a NYC Parks and Recreation appointed instructor.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Andrew Avellino Church, 35-60 158 Steet. On Friday or Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

Why Go: Guests will get to see the Andrean Players perform this all time classic.

Pricing: Adults pay $15, while seniors and kids younger than 12 pay $12.

Where/When: Belmont Park, 2150 Hempstead Turnpike. On Sunday, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Why Go:  This fundraiser includes a half or two and a half mile walk, your choice, as well as a day of activities for adults, families and kids. Did I forget to mention the car and dog shows?
