Why Go: Because this party will be just as fun, but costumes are optional!

4. 'Rent Star' Anthony Rapp Rocks the Hofstra Stage

Where/When: Hofstra University, 900 Hempstead Boulevard. On Saturday at 4 p.m.

Why Go: Not only will you get a live musical performance by the star himself, but you'll also get tickets to Hofstra's own current production of Rent.

Where/When: Alley Pond Park Adventure Course, at Winchester Boulevard South of Grand Central Parkway. On Sunday at 10 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is one way to celebrate Halloween without having to wear a costume, that is, unless you feel like dressing up.
