It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

Where/When: 40-17 Bell Boulevard. On Friday and Saturday, until 10:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Spicy Tuna Bomb and your choice of beer or wine.

Pricing: Food and drink prices vary.

2. BKNY Thai Restaurant

Where/When: 47-11 Francis Lewis Boulevard. On Friday and Saturday night until 11 p.m.

Why Go: Patrons will be able to sample a smorgasbord of Bangkok cuisine. The full bar, ambient lighting and sleek decor doesn't hurt either.

Pricing: Food and drink prices vary.

Where/When: Queens Dance Project, 214-26 41st Avenue. On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Why Go: Because you'll stretch and pose yourself into shape - for free!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: . On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. or Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: This particular exhibit, which includes numerous artifacts, delves into the early history of Bayside and the region.

Pricing: Suggested $3 donation.

5. Zumba Sunday

Where/When: Deepdale Gardens Community Pool. On Sunday, at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Because you can enjoy a much needed dip in the pool after this fun-filled workout.

Pricing: Membership dues apply.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
