Why Go: From various cocktails and martinis to beers and shots, you'll get all and anything you could want for a Friday, or Saturday, night. Let's not forget the darts and pool table.

Where/When:  . On Friday or Saturday, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Why Go: You can catch a different live band on each night, with Back Beat on Friday and Body & Soul on Saturday.

Where/When:  in Fort Totten, on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Why Go: This free concert on Fort Totten Park's lawn will feature the Something Special Big Band. Feel free to bring your blankets, chairs and picnic baskets.

5. Church BBQ

Where/When: . On Sunday, at 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Who doesn't love a BBQ in the summer time? Stop by the Community Church, located two blocks from Douglaston's Long Island Rail Road station, this Sunday for the church's free cookout.
