Get Out: Jazzy Nights and Classy Sounds

Don't let April 1st fool you tomorrow, the weekend starts today!

Beginning tonight, you’ll need special shades to catch a glowing 3-D art show by futuristic artists Dov Lederberg and Yael Avi-Yonah. Their innovative works will surely leap out at you.

By Friday, you’ll be ready to take a seat at Novita’s wine bar or in the front row of a swinging jazz concert by John Pizzarelli. Meanwhile, early birds can rise to shop at an indoor winter farmers market, and gather the fruits of springtime, for an eclectic dinner party. It’s an all-around moveable feast for the senses!

Where/When: Great Neck Arts Center, 113 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: The showing of “3-D Phenomena: Where Art and Science Converge” is almost too much for the naked eye. Luckily, you’ll be supplied with 3-D glasses so you bask in the futuristic creations of married artists Dov Lederberg and Yael Avi-Yonah. Both artists utilize paintings and video images to explore the realm of mystical abstract expressionism, inspired by Jewish mystical teachings. Exhibit runs through May 1. Refreshments will be served.
