Get Out: Girl's Night Out

Sorry fellas, it's all about the ladies this weekend.

March is National Women’s History Month and we’ll help you celebrate it. Here are a few ideas for a girl’s night out, bargain shopping or just some downtime. Of course, the guys are always welcomed to join in on the fun, but be prepared: we are on a mission!   

Where/When: Queensborough Performing Arts Center, 222-05 56th Ave., Oakland Gardens, on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Make “Dancing Queen” your girl’s night anthem. Then get swept away by this tribute to Abba’s hits including Mamma Mia, Take a Chance on Me, Waterloo, Fernando and more. This is a BYOT (Bring Your Own Tissues) event!
Pricing: Tickets are $35.

Where/When: Bellerose Jewish Center, 254-04 Union Turnpike, on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Get your heart pumping with an afternoon of bargain hunting. You’ll will be thrilled by a room full of pre-owned and gently used books, DVDs, VHS tapes, and vintage vinyl records. Buy five books and get the sixth free. Now that’s a bargain!

Tulip Bar and Grill
Where/When: Tulip Bar and Grill, 4 Welwyn Road, Great Neck, open every night.
Why Go: This exotic bar is perfect for cocktails with girlfriends or a date night. Sample tasty tidbits of Turkish, Mediterranean and Indian cuisine. The entertainment includes belly dancing every Saturday night with Israeli, Turkish and Persian music.
Pricing: Very affordable.

Sky Ultra Lounge
Where/When: Sky Ultra Lounge, 26 Great Neck Road, Great Neck, on Fridays and Saturdays.
Why Go: The party is in full swing at this bar and lounge with music for all including: top 40, Dance, Hip-hop, house, techno, and reggaeton. Dressy crowd.
Pricing: Cover varies.

Why Go: Both films deal with the serious themes of identity and how Ethiopian and Russian immigrants are absorbed into the Israeli community. It is sure to promote deep discussions.
