It’s Thursday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit, and a list of new bars, restaurants and shops to explore.

1. New Kahlua Midnight

Where/When: Uno Chicago Grill. Thursday night.

Why Go: Free samples of this new liqueur will be served. And if you like what you taste, Uno's bartenders will have new drinks for you to purchase as well.

Pricing: Free.

2. Music on the Move with The Wolf Cats and Many Special Guests

Where/When: The Attic Bar & Lounge. On Friday, at 9 p.m.

Why Go: While The Wolf Cats graced patrons with their presence on Jan. 11, you'll still get to jazz it up with other live acts set to perform . . . just for you.

Pricing: No cover.

3. Animal Track Exploration

Where/When: Fort Totten. On Sunday at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Not only will you be looking at the prints animals leave on the ground, but if you're lucky you'll also get to observe the actual sources.

Pricing: Free

4. Super Bowl at Bourbon Street

Where/When: Bourbon Street. On Superbowl Sunday at 6 p.m.

Why Go: Not only will you get to enjoy watching the 49ers take on the Ravens on huge plasma TVs, but you'll have a hot and cold buffet and unlimited drinks with raffles and prizes to boot.

Pricing: $45 per person.

5. Original and Traditional Irish-American Music

Where/When: Donovan's Grill & Tavern. On Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: If the superbowl and jazz aren't your cup of tea, this is a great way to liven up your weekend.

Pricing: No cover, food and drink prices vary.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
