Why Go: It's a great way to get a jump start on your weekend. Classes offered include Zumba, Boot Camp, Ballet and Piloxing.

Pricing:  $10 a class, or pay $85 for 10 classes.

Where/When: 214-09 41 Avenue. On Saturday afternoon.

Why Go: La Gloria Cubana should be reason enough. If you can't make that tropical get a way, this is the next best thing.

Pricing: Cigar prices vary.

 

3.

Where/When: 40-11 Bell Boulevard. On Friday or Saturday, until 10:45 p.m.

Why Go: To check out their new beer menu, of course! Or should I say, to sample their new beer menu!!!

Pricing: Food and drink price vary, but are moderately priced.

 

4. Tee Time

Where/When: Douglaston Golf Course, on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. 

Why Go: A little physical activity and competition is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Pricing: $48 per player.

 

5. Borders Going Out of Business Sale 

Where/When: The Shops at Atlas Park, 8000 Cooper Avenue. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Why Go: Everything, from books and eReaders to video games and music, is on sale for 20% to 40% off.

Pricing: Prices vary, but the entire store is on sale.
